Last night I went to bed at 7 pm and woke up around 2 am. I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special (and cried my eyes out at the end of it <3) and then fell asleep again. My mother just came to wake me up. It's 3 pm.

WELL. THAT'S A LOT OF SLEEP.

Stupid chronic fatigue.

But Christmas was lovely! And I had a dream that the girls and Woot and I moved into a new flat (I don't know why...) and it was haunted by these protective ghosts. And there was a stream in the backyard. And the kitchen was awesome. But you know, I AM rather partial to the LFoD so I don't know why I keep dreaming that the girls and Woot and I go apartment hunting. I think it's just because I like buildings.

I blame www.foxtons.co.uk No. Really.

Finally finished all the Doctor Who though there is a new one on Christmas day. But then after that I have to wait for the new series at the end of 2012. And then I decided to watch David Tennant's video diaries of his last days on set and he's so emotional and that wasn't a brilliant idea. I feel a bit bereft which is ridiculous. Ah, first world problems. It just fills me with such nostalgia to watch, and the new series was brought back to life so well. I love that instead of restarting it, they continued it on. Makes me ridiculously happy, even when I am not fond of certain characters, or I a goggling over a story line. Or Mark freaking Gatiss has to write an episode where dolls stalk you. *shudder*

Oh, and I have decided that I will forgive the show for revealing the Doctor's name (though I don't think they will) if it is Stormageddon. But only in that instance. Stormy+Doctor=OTPP.

Tomorrow my mother and I are finishing Christmas shopping. I learned to crochet today too! In like...twenty minutes! But it hurts my hands so I couldn't do it for long. Still, I managed to help make a scarf for my niece and that is AWESOME. And speaking of my niece, my sister's family will be here on Thursday night and I am SO EXCITED! I can't wait eeeiiiii!

We also went to see my other niece's choir concert today and it was lovely. Though they sang Cat's in the Cradle. Which is just mean! Darn sentimental songs.

EDIT: THEY CHANGED THE COMMENTS AND I DON'T LIKE IT! Dammit, LJ, stop changing things!

I was in the crappiest mood (hormones lol) and then suddenly I'm all excited and happy. Thanks a lot, body. You're lovely.

BUT I am going to learn to crochet tomorrow! So I can make scarves! I so want a Doctor Who scarf homg. And we're going shopping for wool so my mother can make me some potholders and dish cloths for our LFoD kitchen. Also I am looking at the easy patterns for stained glass so I can start more projects. I have this gorgeous triple shamrock pattern I will make for me, but I am going to make that one at the class. I can do the easy ones in the basement. My mother set up a workshop because she's adorable. We're also looking for presents for the niece and nephews as well.

And then my sister and her family get here on Thursday. And on Friday I might go to Sherlock Holmes 2 with Maliky and Travis which yayyyy! I am so excited :D

If I haven't mentioned lately how much my mother rocks then here: my mother is pure awesome.

So I've been looking for birthday cards for you and haven't found the right one, so I gave up and decided I'd just confirm what I would have told you in the card-- that as long as you have the time at Christmas to come home, we will figure out how to get you here. If you have any $ to throw into the hat, that would be good, but your birthday/Christmas present will be whatever is needed to make up the difference for the ticket. If that's ok with you.

Uh. YEAH THAT'S OKAY WITH ME! Yay, Christmas with my family! I haven't had a Christmas that felt like Christmas since 2003. It's the one time of year I want snow and not summertime. And turkey and my mother's stuffing instead of a barbecue. Though Lewi's dad did do AWESOME and epic barbecues which always tasted of amazing, they still never felt right. Last year was good, but I still missed being in Montana.

And my sister and her family might be there too and just <3<3<3. This is what I needed right now when I feel sick and blah and hurgh. Perfect.

The world is still shaking and I have to go pick Jayann up from the airport soon! I hope she doesn't flip her biscuits if one happens while she's here. That would not be pleasant.

Tim Minchin's history of Christmas article, however, is hilarious )

Not written this year, because he has the flu. He says "My daughter has the flu too. I'd better go stick some drugs in her face." Awww. I hope they get better soon.

Spent Christmas day with Laura and Leah and it was magical and awesome. I haven't eaten that much in one day for...a very long time. Dear god. So we ate and watched DVDs all day. For like 12 hours. It was the best Christmas I have had in a damn long time.

Watched Clue, The Ring 2, Dungeons and Dragons (for the lols) and Ghostbusters 2.

We also watched the ultimate Christmas movie. The Addams Family.

Some quotes:

Laura: "Oh my god! One of my brothers' ex boyfriends looks like Lurch!"

Laura: "Hey, guys! If we have The Mask we could totally watch The Mask"
Leah: "We could. If I had a gun I could also shoot my kneecaps out!"

I don't think Leah approves of Jim Carrey. Just something about that gives me a hintling.

OH and Neil Gaiman linked to Tim Minchin's Christmas song White Wine in the Sun for the second year in a row in his Christmas blog. I love it when people I adore also adore each other :D

I just recorded myself singing O Holy Night for the heck of it. I did it twice. One was pitch perfect and lovely and everything I wanted. The second one I did, Ariadne came meowing and tugged on my skirt, hoping I would help her catch moths (yes we do this, my life is so full) and I crack up in the middle of the song and then sing the rest terribly off-key because I'm laughing. My camera isn't great for operatic voices either, but...you know, cest la vie!

The one that all went wrong is SO the one I am uploading. I think it is more me. I AM sorry for the potentially busted speakers. Don't listen to the end too loud. My voice is kind of high-pitched and laughing and singing don't mix.

By the way, the reason I filmed the bookcases when I was singing, is because I look like I am in terrible pain when I sing. Just be glad I saved you.

ALSO I took a photo of my re-dyed hair, since the recordings are all yellow. Of course the colour still looks strange because I'm a pale (smarmy) ghost. Whatever, it's red. No regrowth any more finally.

Blahblahblah get to the video, darnit. Okay, okay! )

I braved the mall for shopping. I had to take the bus (as ever). It is raining. Everyone was on the bus with me. Everyone in the world.

So...reading a book called Saint Patrick; Patron Saint of Ireland leads to weird looks on the bus. Usually from hoony teenagers, the bastards. I can only assume these people are looking at me and deciding I am some kind of fundie, since I do tend to look like a goddamn prude though I have NO idea why. If only they knew that my TimPod was playing Tim Minchin singing Inflatable You or Ten Foot Cock and a Few Hundred Virgins in my ears as I read about Patrick's religious experiences.

Might I also add that listening to that latter song, as well as So Fucking Rock while being literally surrounded by octogenarian women is a little uncomfortable. They are judging me with eyes full of wisdom!

I did some Christmas shopping, and yet I still need to get my flatmate presents next Monday. The LFoD are having a Tim Minchin Christmas and giving each other socks, jocks and chocolate. Because we're awesome.

And my TimPod played White Wine in the Sun when I was about nine minutes from home so it fit in perfectly at the end of the trip, leaving me feeling all lovely. Thanks, TimPod! You're the best!
