I have three assignments due in the next two weeks, but I have just finished one. My case study (easy peasy) is due on Friday and it is only 2,000 words. I just wrote 1,00 rambly words on service users and blah de blah for social policy. And then I have a 3,000-3,500 word essay on more social policy stuff and I cannot possibly express how bland I find social policy. But oh god. OH GOD.

My mouth is feeling slightly dry again today, but I think it's actually just because I'm having an off day and I am feeling a little (I just typed 'Littleton'...) anxious and depressed. And I think I am getting dear Alison's cold, though it could just be allergies!

I think the kitten is going to be named Echo. If you saw her, you would know why. She's a runty little thing. She needs a small name. And she is not stately. So something grandiose just doesn't fit. Echo or Clio, though I am now 99% sure it's Echo. I'll sleep on it, though feel free to weigh in there! I like opinions! She is adorable though. Every once in a while she just darts over and jumps up for a cuddle. She's perfect.

Tomorrow I have to remember to pick up a flea treatment from the vet for the new kitten, drop off my essay, hand in my form for withdrawing from my placement (asking why it has taken this long will only result in me ranting your ear off, so I would advise against it) and then going to class from 4:10 until 7. And THEN stuffing my face full of curry. Must remember to go to an ATM some time tomorrow too. Need cash for Indian foods.

I actually wrote today too. Not just essay stuff. It was wonderful. ...oh right. I should eat dinner. You know, if my appetite could return to me full time, that'd be nice too. :|

I got another cat. Because I am insane. She is nameless and currently curled up on my shoulder. She's tiny and awkward which is why I love her. The awkward part, I am aware she will grow. She needs a name.

I think the newest side effect of the meds is insomnia, though at least that's relatively normal for me. But I can't sleep longer than a few hours at a time, even when Helios isn't waking me up. So it's 8:30 in the morning and I have been awake since about 5. And while the good days are really good and the bad days have usually meant I am extra-anxious, this is a bad day and instead I am depressed. I feel like I might snap someone's head off.

It's not awesome.

This kitten actually wakes me up every three hours like clockwork. I went to sleep at midnight, and he woke me up at 3. I fell asleep again and he woke me up at six and I tried to fall asleep again for an hour to no avail. I carried my cat in here to cuddle and he chased her away and is now claiming my chest. Dear Helios. I WANT TO CUDDLE MY ARIADNE! And sleep some time this century. But GOD you are cute.

My sleep schedule has been so messed up and I am so tired all I can do while I am awake is lie there and watch DVDs. I haven't actually written anything in almost a week and a half other than the odd tag. It makes me feel antsy, but much less antsy than I probably would have been without the meds. They are chilling me out big time.

Also, I made salsa yesterday and it tastes like a Mexican restaurant. Sogoodomg. And Ewan is now falling off my wall. I shall go punish him ;D

Can't sleep, tralala this is my life now. And the INTERNET KEEPS GOING OUT! Okay. Internet? You are here to keep me sane. And I am trying to finish work for my mother. STOP.IT.

But whatever, I watched an episode of Ghost Hunters I downloaded last month and promptly forgot about. And after years of being obsessed with Most Haunted even though I find the show utterly ridiculous, I was pleasantly surprised. None of these guys run around screaming like gits. At least...not in this episode, but they were in Alcatraz and if that doesn't make them scream, a house probably wouldn't. And while the Most Haunted crew acting like idiots is half the appeal (the other half being the pretty locations and the history and, when he is present, my gay medium teddy bear boyfriend, David Wells) I actually enjoyed seeing people do more serious investigations. I mean, it's still clearly amped up for the camera, but I liked the laid back way they approached things.

So then I ordered a DVD of it off of Amazon the second the internet worked again (it stopped again between then and now because it HATES ME) because I have no willpower.

Helios seems to think the best place to cuddle is my eyeballs. And the more I remove him the more cuddly he gets. But GOD he is ridiculously cute. I just like my eyeballs cat fur free. It burns us, Precious.

NOW let's see how long the internet stays on this time!

And I want another cat too, shhhh

I GOT OUT OF BED TODAY! And it is 7 in the morning, so I got out of bed in a timely fashion. I hadn't slept the night before and then saw Leah to the airport and did some shopping. So yesterday I made lunch and ate it in bed before falling asleep until 6 pm. Then I watched Final Destination and Grey's Anatomy until about eleven. Ate more, and slept until 6 am. Now I am on the couch. but yesterday feels like it didn't exist!

Tonight I am making ziti. I only wish they sold Italian sausage here. It's not as good with ground beef, but alas!

In the DVD release of Final Destination I am guessing they couldn't get the rights for Leaving on a Jet Plane because it plays 'fire in the sky' instead. It had to be John Denver, since the woman puts a record on with 'JOHN DENVER LOOK, IT'S JOHNNY DENVER RECORD' on it. But it was so weird to see it without that song since I associate the two so strongly. I also learned a few other things by watching the movie again that seem to only be true in the world of this movie.

1) Black people only exist to deliver creepy, over-dramatic monologues about death.
2) Apparently just by hearing said monologue, you can jump to the completely random conclusion that Death is still coming for you and you have to figure out Death's design.
3) Girls can't drink beer, they have to drink girly drinks like wine.
4) No one can act, not even Ali Larter's wig.
5) Kerr Smith is a peepantshead.
6) Just never ever go to France, okay? France = Death.

Today I have to finish my work thing, reply to Lewi's email, vacuum, do the dishes, shop for ziti supplies, get the cats' monthly flea treatment stuff (since I will never ever slack on that again, ffs) and maybe start on my essay. I already mostly caught up at FS. I AM SO PRODUCTIVE, LOOK AT ME! Maybe I should start on that Tim Minchin mood theme too ;)

Didn't make three meals today, but I made two! And cake. A HUGE PIECE OF CAKE. Awww yeah! Gosh cake is an amazing invention. Caaaaaake. Cake.

Alison is coming home tomorrow. I am making chili because it has been again demanded. So I will leave the house to get rolls and wine in the afternoon tomorrow. Because I believe all are needed. And then this weekend I get to try out a new cupcake recipe. It is here. I am excite!

Also I finally put in for my refund from my student loans. Because it finally got approved and finally got here. So I should get my money in the next few days. It's nearly June. But you know. WHATEVER. :| At least it's nearly here. I shouldn't complain any more, but what a freaking ordeal. This means I can spend the money I just got from working on DVDs on the interwebs. MWUAHA!

My sleep schedule is so stupidly messed up. But I have cute kitties! And I am watching Danny Bhoy and reading about Celtic mythology. <3

Alison was supposed to go to bed but she just came out here to get a drink and there is no way that we could possibly ever explain the conversation that just occurred between us, but it was epic hilarity though it was the kind where you had to be there and now my stomach hurts from laughing. It was pure ridiculousness and we both laughed so hard, and I feel like I might vomit.

And then I thought, "you know what? I think I feel like this at least once a day." I think living in a house where you laugh so hard you think you might vomit at least once a day is pretty damn awesome, no matter what else is going on in my messed up little world.

Long live the LFoD and all it's denizens, past and present!

EDIT: For more examples of why the LFoD is the greatest place on Earth, I present Alison's Overheard in the LFoD tag in her journal which is chock full of hilarity and quotes.

My head hurts from laughing.

Today I went in to visit Ness at her work and I purchased a new phone since my old one was a little dilapidated and the battery was annoying. New phone is wi-fi enabled and snazzy and I downloaded apps for my yahoo!mail and a few other things. It also has a Tim Minchin background (took me forever to find one that worked because it has to be really wide instead of long) and it plays a Sherlock Holmes ringtone when the phone rings. I enjoy this! So farewell to the Barbie Dream Phone. I shall miss you BDP. You were good to me and you rotated pictures of my favourite people (the ones I don't know in person...). Alas, the time has come to part ways.

On the uni front, I have finally enrolled but this is after the head of the program himself had to call me and assure me they would get onto getting me through the approval process right away. US student loans at an NZ university are frickin' FUN, I'll tell you what. But I can't complain too much. Without them, I'd be up shit creek with no degree. Well...with two degrees I don't use, instead of three with one I DO hope to use.

Miss my housemates. They're at Canterbury Faire and I remain home, alone with the cat! Ness came over to watch Sherlock and entertain me, which was awesome! <3 And now, since I spent almost all of yesterday sleeping (I was literally awake for about 6 hours of yesterday in total. and then I slept until 10:30 this morning...), I will spend the night drinking tea from my dragon tea pot and writing things with myself and trying not to panic about poor Queensland and the category 5 cyclone headed towards them :(. Just fuck, man.

Just so everyone is clear? My friends are nutters. Absolute possibly time-travelling nutters.

And I adore them :D

I went to bed at 10 last night and fell asleep watching Boosh. I should know better. The dreams are SO WEIRD. And not fun dreams involving Noel Fielding and his sparkly self. I think I was being chased by Yetis.

Or Rich Fulcher.

I am full of pasta and candy canes and wine. And an apricot. And then I took a look at applications for characters and it totally made me want to bash my head against the desk and thus? Not happening. I think I am going to go to bed at 10 pm.

Last night I tried and failed. And when I finally went to sleep at 5 AM a SPIDER FELL ON ME right as I was turning the light out and Leah had to save me. Needless to say the adrenaline didn't help and then every thing I felt was a spider and *cries* Sleep cycles suck. As do spiders. Bad surprise, bad surprise!

But apparently in my long skirt, tank top, and two braids I look like a folk singer. Especially when I play my blue guitar. So yay?

And today we were shopping, we amused the crap out of this guy and his wife because the LFoD is full of hilarious people. It was pretty awesome.

The amount of wine I have in me right now, you could bottle it. But that would be weird to re-sell wine. Stingy people.

I said nothing about Saint Patrick!

...aw man! ;)
