Today was really warm and I was sick of the waiting for something to happen and I couldn't sit around any more. I took a bus into town because Alice in Videoland said their shop would be open. I love that place. I'm SO glad the building was declared safe... So I travelled into the city with a bus driver who told me all about his quake experience. He was awesome! The Bus Exchange had been opened an hour before I got there which pleased me.

I was surprised that most of the city is still standing. There are a lot of structurally unsafe buildings, but I only saw two which had crumbled completely. On my way home I took a detour through the Sydenham Cemetery though, and it suffered. A much of monuments are lying down flat or broken into pieces. They entire place is cordoned off except for the main road through it. So heartbreaking.

On a random note, the shops have plantains and I am excited because I can make some of my Mexican recipes, yay!

Still paranoid, but at least I slept through the night last night. Awesome. It won't help that I just rented a bunch of horror movies... But OH OH Alice's had The House of Frankenstein on DVD!! I AM SO IMPRESSED! Random, old horror movies that suck FTW!!! And they were selling a used copy of Danny Bhoy for 8 bucks so I got that as well. The one in Sydney, not the one in Melbourne. This pleases me.

Glad to know things calmed down a bit, I hope it stays that way! Can't have you not sleeping!!!! And I miss you. XD

I have never seen that movie, but I am curious now because Frankenstein is like my FAVORITE BOOK EVER! So I kind of tend to like all things related to. Hrmm...a lot like Greek myth and such.

I remember I loved it when I was in third grade. It has gypsies and quicksand and the Wolfman and I THINK it has Dracula too...along with Frankenstein's monster. I can't remember anything else, but I'm sure I will soon!

They seem to have a bunch of classic monster movies but nothing from the Giant Bug Oeuvre. I want to see T.H.E.M. again, dammit!

...I love old B-movies. They=my favourites.

Old movies can be like awesome. Vincent Price movies are the best. I remember seeing him in House of Wax and The House of Usher---that man can creep you the hell out.

:D

Oh my god, yes. They had The Raven there and I almost got that out too, but I had six movies already ahahaha. And it's a comedy more than it is a horror, even if it was in the horror section. Some of them are comedic unintentionally, but not that one.

Vincent Price, however, is my lover. ;) Well he's not because he's dead, but I can dream!

Racking up weren't you?

So is Shakespeare. Lol. But yes, dude his voice alone is awesome. I'm sure if he was alive and making films today he'd still send chills up your spine.

I like renting DVDs :D I got the Scream trilogy out because I am AWESOME and I want to be nostalgic for high school. Why, I do not know!

Yes...Shakespeare is also dead. He is not my lover, but I do love him in a platonic 'You're far racier than anyone seems to give you credit for and I like the way you write' way. Vincen't Price's voice...oh man, I would lick it.

I liked the first one of screem. Skeet Ulrich=hotness. Though I swear to god in high school that one scared me. Lame-o. Then again I was at my aunt's house, in the dark, her house in the middle of the woods in bum-fuck nowhere and the inside looked like the house Drew Barrymore's character was killed in. Sure enough the phone rang and I screamed and jumped a mile high.

Ahhahahaa. I probably didn't need to know that. Snort.

Hahha this one time after watching The Ring with Lewi, he stepped on the remote and the telly came on again without warning and we both jumped and I squealed. It was awesome!

I can always be relied on to dish out a healthy does of TMI :D

Oh, oh...god no...not the Japanese horror flicks. The crawling....THE CRAWLING with that ticking motion and slow moving...OMG THANK YOU...now I won't be able to sleep tonight because some long haired Japanese chick is going to come crawling out of my television or computer screen. The Grudge was just as bad....

Oh that's lovely, at least it makes me giggle-snort.

Oh I love them too! It's just they freak me out and give me nightmares. I don't do the crawling men. Speaking of ever seen the one called Nightmare Detective? Cute lead but that is one MESSED up movie.
